The 2021 Paumanok Assemblage is a red wine from the North Fork of Long Island in New York. It is dense and round, with intense aromas of cassis, black berry, black cherry and spice. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm tannin structure and a long finish.
Paumanok is an estate winery founded in 1983 on the North Fork of Long Island, owned and operated by the Massoud family. Charles and Ursula Massoud began as growers, harvested their first crop in 1985 and sold their grapes through the 1980s. The strong 1988 vintage inspired them to build their own winery, finished in 1990. Their son Kareem Massoud is now winemaker and also makes the wines at neighboring Palmer Vineyards. Their wines come from 80 acres of vineyards, including New York's only Chenin Blanc, and rest on the belief that only the healthiest, ripest grapes make great wine.
