Le Chêne Marchand is a Sancerre, a white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc in the Loire Valley of France. The 2025 is pale yellow with grey undertones. With air it shows mandarin, honeysuckle and aniseed, along with boxwood, broom and rhubarb, then dried fruits, almonds and pistachios. The palate is frank on the attack, soft and unctuous, with a lively finish and lingering orange peel and white chocolate.
The Crochet family has cultivated the hills of Bué since the 16th century. Jean-Marc joined his father in 1980, and Mathieu followed in 2007. Together they tend the vines with care and attention, and they welcome visitors to their tasting room to try their wines.
