This 2023 Savigny-les-Beaune is a Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France. It shows concentrated dark cherry fruit in a pure, elegant style. The grapes come from many parcels with different characteristics, mostly on lower slopes at about 200 meters of altitude, and Lebreuil blends them to get a supple, silky red. It ages in oak casks, 15% new and the rest one to three years old, and the alcohol is 13%.
The Lebreuil family estate in Savigny-les-Beaune dates to 1935, when Jean-Baptiste Lebreuil's grandparents bought two hectares of vines. His father Pierre grew it to seven hectares, and Jean-Baptiste joined in 1999. The domaine now covers 9.5 hectares around Savigny. No herbicide or pesticide has been used since 2003, and they have followed biodynamic practices since 2011. Their Pinot Noir is de-stemmed, cold macerated, and aged 14 to 16 months in barrel.
