This 2024 Pinot Noir comes from Reuilly in the Loire Valley. Denis Jamain makes it fine, supple and fresh, with cassis and morello cherry flavors.
Domaine de Reuilly sits in an area where the first vines were tended by the monks of King Dagobert's Royal Abbey. Jamain's grandfather has kept vines on the property since the end of World War II, and the parcel was replanted in the 1980s with vines better suited to the terroir. Denis now farms about seventeen hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris on clay and Kimmeridgian limestone, the same geological chain that runs to Chablis. He farms sustainably, has begun converting to organic certification, and makes his barrels from oaks selected from his grandfather's forest.
