State of Mind was founded by Michael Kennedy, along with a group of vintners, sommeliers and winery veterans that came together to collaborate on some pretty incredible wines. Their goal was to express the best in American terroir, through a collaborative direction on winemaking. The goal of State of Mind is to collaborate, using the teams difference in approach, background, taste and experience, to best express a site through winemakingโฆ It always comes to a point where they make a group decision. Collaboration is a gift, one that we don't take for granted in our wines."- Michael Kennedy. Our Chardonnay also comes from the LS Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills of the Willamette Valley. This wine sees an incredible juxtaposition of style - one in the more Roulot style of reductive, lean Chardonnay and one in the more Lafon style, rounder, elegant and seriously long-lasting. The texture is a constant teeter-totter between style and leaves the palate constantly in motion.
